THE TWO BLOOMS STORY

Growing flowers, working outdoors and embracing the variety in each season brings me so much joy. Now raising two blooms of my own, alongside my wildly supportive husband, I aspire to show my girls that with hard work and dedication, anything is possible.

It began in 2017, when I planted my first dahlia. I was in love with the experience of having fresh flowers around the house. Jokingly, I said to my husband, “just wait, someday I’ll have a whole field of this stuff”.

Fast forward to the summer of 2020. I was on mat leave with our second bloom. After arriving home from a long trip, I headed straight to the garden. While cutting and arranging what had flourished while I was away, I had a moment. Stillness. Enjoyment. Calm. Creativity. Clarity. I caught myself not thinking about the noise. That moment stayed with me. It was a sign. A turning point.

I asked myself often, "what can I do, that makes me truly happy, that will blend well with the hopes I have for my motherhood experience".

Prior to mat leave, I had a great job. Lovely colleagues, work that challenged me. Don’t get me wrong. I loved being a career person. But my personal life had evolved. I craved the opportunity to spend my days with my girls. I craved the opportunity to put energy into something that was truly my own. Something that reflected the life my husband and I were building, and something that would have lasting impact on my little blooms.

So, there it was. In my garden, the idea was born. I had finally been pushed to the point of courage, change and action. I found my husband, who was mid-shower, and announced: “I want to start a business growing flowers”. After more explanation, he followed with: “so what do we have to do to get started?”.

I hope that our flowers inspire you to reflect on the beauty of the season you're in, and to pursue the things that bring you joy. None of this would be possible without the help of my husband and our families. It is the greatest honour to be growing for you.
